Welcome to our HCG blog. You will find recipes, tips, suggestions, etc. on this site. We have been on the HCG diet and wish to share our experience and successes with you. I hope we can inspire and motivate someone through this blogging. Good luck to all!

What IS HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin)? Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a natural occurring hormone found in the placenta shortly after conception in the first trimester of pregnancy. It is a protein hormone known as a peptide. Found in the blood stream, HCG helps reset hypothalamus and trigger signals for the human body to begin breaking down reserve body fats as a primary fuel source. Dr. Simeons findings showed that these signals occur when the body experiences a low calorie diet. HCG is also known to send out signals to conserve and maintain lean body mass, your muscles. HCG tricks your body into thinking it is consuming its needed daily allotment of calories. Replacing ingested calories with stored fat calories.

For those of you who are beginning the fantastic journey of HCG, welcome! The first week seems to be an initiation of sorts as it can be difficult. You can experience headaches, lethargy, hunger pangs, and numerous other side effects of your body detoxing the junk you just loaded up on for 2 days. But don't despair, there is hope to come in your second week. So if you can survive the first, then you're good to go!

  2. I am on day 23 and so far I have lost 16 lbs. You are right, the first week is very hard. But I was losing a pound a day. Then I began fluctuating with a two or three days being the same weight which was most discouraging. But I hung in there and am still going. Looking back at my notes, I seem to have a pattern of losing a lb a day for a while and then I'll go two to four days without showing a loss. I was kind of worried this last week because I went four days being the same. But this morning I showed another 1.5 lbs loss. Maybe I will increase my water intake. I have been drinking 2 liters a day. Maybe that is not enough for my weight. I began at 213...Ellen Bentley
